They taste just like oven roasted radishes and are flavoured with garlic, onion powder, and sea salt. A delicious and healthy side to enjoy with all of your favourite meals!
One of the best things about this recipe is that the radishes take just 12 minutes to cook in an air fryer, and are a fantastic low-carb potato substitute.
If you've only ever eaten raw radishes in salads, you're really missing out! When radishes are roasted in an air fryer, they lose some of their peppery kick and develop a lovely sweetness to them. Go on, give them a try!

What is an air fryer?
Air fryers are small(ish) kitchen appliances that operate like a convection oven—except in a smaller, more concentrated space.
The air is circulated at a high temperature and evenly around the food, which makes the food cook more quickly than in a conventional oven and helps give foods a crispy coating without the need for lots of oil and fat
🔪 How do you air fryer radishes?
The recipe card with ingredient quantities and detailed instructions can be found at the bottom of the post
One: Place the halved radishes into a large mixing bowl with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix with a spoon until the radishes are coated.
Two: Air fry at 200°C (400°F) for 10-12 minutes (large radishes will need 12-14 minutes), until tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Shake halfway through cooking to ensure they cook evenly.
Top Tips
- Wash, trim, and dry the radishes thoroughly before using.
- Make sure the radishes are in one single layer in your air fryer basket to ensure the hot air can circulate around each radish half. Depending on what size air fryer you have, you may need to air fry them in two batches.
🍴 Serving suggestions
Serve the roasted air fryer radishes as a side dish with your favourite family meals including bacon mac and cheese, beef stroganoff, chicken and vegetable stew, air fryer salmon, and cottage pie.
Leftovers are delicious in salads such as beetroot and goat's cheese salad and five bean salad.
The radishes can also be eaten as a snack (air fryer radish chips) with roasted red pepper hummus or sour cream & chive dip.
📖 Variations
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or chilli powder if you like your food hot!

🥡 Storage
Air fryer radishes are best eaten fresh, straight from the air fryer.
Store - Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Freeze - Not suitable for home freezing.
❓ Frequently asked questions
There is no need to peel radishes before cooking them.
Wash your radishes in cold running water and pat them dry with paper towels. Trim off the stem and root with a sharp knife.
Air-fried radishes taste similar to potatoes with a more mellow flavour than peppery raw ones. The texture is also soft and potato-like when you cook them.

Never tried cooking radishes before! Air frying them made them lovely and crispy on the outside. The seasoning was just right too.
