I LOVE my slow cooker, especially during the colder winter months. I use it a lot on busy weekdays when I'm ferrying my children to after-school sports clubs, practices, and other activities, meaning I don't have time to stand by a hob stirring things!

These honey garlic slow cooker pork chops are a real family favourite in our house. They only take 4 hours to cook on high, so I usually pop them on just after lunch, and by the time we get home, dinner is served!

✔️ Why should you try it?

Here's why this is the best fall-apart slow cooker pork chops recipe!

    • 5 minutes prep time.
    • Slow cooking results in succulent and tender pork chops.
    • Delicious honey garlic sauce.
    • Only 5 simple ingredients.

    🥘 Ingredients

The honey garlic crockpot pork chops are so easy to make. It's a quick dump-and-go slow cooker recipe, so prep time is an absolute minimum.

    • Pork chops - use thick pork chops or boneless pork steaks if you prefer.
    • Garlic cloves - if you love garlic add half a teaspoon of garlic powder too.
    • Honey - clear runny honey is best.
    • Ketchup - add a lovely sweetness.
    • Soy sauce - or use Worcestershire sauce instead.
    • Parsley - for garnish
    • You may want to thicken the sauce with a cornflour slurry or thickening granules.

    🥄 Equipment

Which slow cooker? I use a Morphy Richards Sear and Stew 6.5 litre slow cooker, which means I can brown and slow cook in the same pot as the slow cooker pot is safe to use on the hob! The 6.5 litre capacity serves 6-8 main portions, so it’s ideal for families and those that like batch cooking. There is also a 3.5 litre version for smaller households!

    🔪 Instructions

The recipe card with ingredient quantities and detailed instructions can be found at the bottom of the post

One: Place the pork chops in your slow cooker.

Two: Mix up the honey garlic sauce and pour it over the pork chops.

Three: Cook on high for 4 hours ( or 6 hours on low). Thicken the sauce with a cornflour slurry or thickening granules if desired.

Four: Garnish with parsley before serving.

    🍴 Serving suggestions

There are a lot of options when it comes to serving these tender pork chops. My favourite way of serving them is with roasted baby potatoes or crispy polenta roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, and slow cooker red cabbage. Stir-fried green beans and roasted Brussels sprouts also work well.

Creamy mashed potato, egg noodles, cauliflower rice, and turmeric rice are other tasty options.

    📖 Variations

    • Try using lamb chops instead of pork chops and replace the parsley with freshly chopped mint.
    • Spice up the honey garlic sauce by adding a teaspoon of hot chilli powder.
    • The honey garlic sauce is also great with chicken breasts.
    • Make a creamy sauce instead, using a can of cream of chicken soup or cream of mushroom soup.

    🥡 Storage

Store: Leftovers can be placed in an airtight container and kept in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat: In a microwave until piping hot.

    🧊 Suitable for freezing?

The slow-cooked pork chops can be frozen for up to 3 months. Once cooled, place in a freezer-safe container and pour over the sauce, seal with a tightly fitting lid, and place in the freezer. Defrost in the fridge before reheating in the microwave.

    ❓ FAQS

Do I need to brown the pork chops before slow cooking?

Aesthetically, there may be an argument in favour of browning, but there is no need to brown the chops before placing them in the slow cooker.

How long do pork chops take to cook in a slow cooker?

Pork chops can be cooked on high for 4 hours or on a low setting for 6 hours.

Why are my pork chops tough?

Pork chops are a lean cut of meat, and when cooked on the hob or in a conventional oven, they are relatively quick-cooking and prone to overcooking. The benefit of slow-cooking pork chops is that the trapped steam and heat within the slow cooker help tenderise the chops, making it almost impossible to overcook them.

    • 80 g Honey
    • 150 g Tomato Ketchup
    • 4 tablespoon Soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon Parsley chopped
    • 2 tablespoon Cornflour

    Instructions

    • Place the pork chops in your slow cooker (crockpot).
      4 Pork chops
    • In a jug mix together the garlic, honey, ketchup and soy sauce. Pour the sauce over the pork chops.
      2 Garlic cloves, 80 g Honey, 150 g Tomato Ketchup, 4 tablespoon Soy sauce

    • Try using lamb chops instead of pork chops and replace the parsley with freshly chopped mint.
    • Spice the honey garlic sauce up by adding a teaspoon of hot chili powder.

I love dinners this time of year that can be made in the slow cooker. It eliminates me having to heat up my kitchen for dinner. This one is loaded with flavor and will be a hit here! We love pork chops!

Hi Leigh. Glad you enjoyed it. I'd cook chicken breasts for 6 hours on low.

Did this last night and loved it. An hour before serving I added 150g of rice and 1 1/2 the volume of the rice in water and the whole dish was delicious. Much better than the boring lion steaks we were going to have and less work in a heat wave.
