🍴 Serving suggestions
There are a lot of options when it comes to serving these tender chops. Probably my favourite way of serving them is with roasted sweet potato or crispy polenta roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and steamed seasonal vegetables.
Creamy mashed potato and rice are also good choices.
📖 Variations
- Try using lamb chops instead of pork chops and replace the parsley with freshly chopped mint.
- Spice the honey garlic sauce up by adding a teaspoon of hot chili powder.
- The honey garlic sauce is also great with chicken breasts.
🧊 Suitable for freezing?
The slow cooked pork chops can be frozen for up to 3 months. Once cooled, place in a freezer safe container and pour over the sauce, seal with a tightly fitting lid and place in the freezer. Defrost in the fridge before reheating in the microwave.
❓ FAQS
Aesthetically, there may be an argument in favour of browning, but there is no need to brown the chops before placing them in the slow cooker.
Pork chops can be cooked on high for 4 hours or on a low setting for 6 hours.
Pork chops are a lean cut of meat, and when cooked on the hob or in a conventional oven, they are relatively quick-cooking and prone to overcooking. The benefit of slow cooking pork chops is that the trapped steam and heat within the slow cooker helps tenderise the chops, making it almost impossible to overcook them.

Slow Cooker Pork Chops in a Honey Garlic Sauce
Ingredients
- 4 Pork chops
- 2 Garlic cloves chopped
- 80 g Honey
- 150 g Tomato Ketchup
- 4 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Parsley chopped
- 2 tbsp Cornflour
Instructions
- Place the pork chops in your slow cooker (crockpot).
- In a jug mix together the garlic, honey, ketchup and soy sauce. Pour the sauce over the pork chops.
- Cook on high for 4 hours (or low for 6).
- If the sauce needs thickening, take the cooked pork chops out of the slow cooker and place on a plate, whisk 2 tbsp of cornflour with enough water to make a thick paste, and whisk it into the sauce. Cook with the lid off for 15 minutes. Alternatively use thickening granules that are now available in all major supermarkets.
- Once the sauce is thickened to your liking, place the pork chops back in and serve with the chopped parsley.
Notes
- Try using lamb chops instead of pork chops and replace the parsley with freshly chopped mint.
- Spice the honey garlic sauce up by adding a teaspoon of hot chili powder.
- The honey garlic sauce is also great with chicken breasts.
