✔️ Why should you try it?

    1. Cooking a frittata in an air fryer is incredibly easy and quick. The air fryer heats up quickly and the frittata cooks evenly in just minutes, which means you can have a healthy and delicious breakfast on the table in no time.
    2. Air fryer frittatas are a great option for those looking for a nutritious breakfast. Eggs are a great source of protein and contain essential vitamins and minerals like vitamin D and choline.
    3. One of the best things about cooking in an air fryer is that it ensures perfectly cooked food every time. With the air circulating around the frittata, it cooks evenly and comes out with a nice golden crust. This means that you don't have to worry about undercooked or overcooked eggs or a soggy frittata.

    🥘 Ingredients

Ingredients needed for air fryer breakfast frittata.

Eggs - 4 large free-range eggs at room temperature.

Milk - semi-skimmed or whole milk can be used, or for something more luxurious, use double cream.

Cheddar - a tangy extra-mature cheddar, coarsely grated.

    Feta - crumbled into chunks.

Tomato - 1 large tomato, quartered, deseeded, and chopped. You could also use 5 halved cherry tomatoes instead.

Spinach - or rocket would also work well.

Spring Onions - chopped into pieces.

Herbs - a mixture of fresh parsley and basil is delicious. If you didn't have fresh herbs use a teaspoon of dried herbs instead.

Salt and Pepper - for seasoning.

Olive Oil - ½ teaspoon of olive oil is needed for brushing the sides of the tin.

    🔪 Instructions

The recipe card with ingredient quantities and detailed instructions can be found at the bottom of the post

One: Beat the eggs and milk together in a large jug.

Two: Add all of the other frittata ingredients except the oil, which is used for brushing the sides of the pan.

Three: Pour into a lightly oiled 20cm round springform tin and place in your air fryer basket at 180°c (350F) for 16 minutes.

Four: Allow to cool for 5 minutes then run a round-edged knife around the tin to loosen it, before releasing it from the tin.

Step by step photo instructions for making air fryer breakfast frittata.

    Top Tips

    • Line a 20cm springform pan with non-stick baking paper and brush the sides with oil to prevent your frittata from sticking.
    • If your frittata is browning too much on top, lightly cover it with a piece of foil to prevent further browning. Use oven gloves to press a piece of foil onto the top of the tin so it doesn't fly off.
    • I like to mix my frittata ingredients in a jug, which I can pour straight into the tin without any spillages.
    • All air fryers vary, so I advise you to start checking the frittata after 12 minutes.

    🍴 Serving suggestions

Air fryer sausages and grilled bacon go well with the air fryer breakfast frittata.

For lunch, serve it with air fryer salmon, baked carrot fries, apple coleslaw, and a simple side salad.

    📖 Variations

    • Add leftover cooked chicken, bacon, or pork to your frittata for extra protein.
    • Change the veggies you use. Drained tinned sweetcorn, frozen peas, or diced peppers all work really well.
    • Spice it up by adding a chopped red chilli.
    • Used dried herbs if you don't have any fresh ones to hand.

    🥡 Storage

Store - Eat the frittata warm for breakfast, or alternatively, let it cool and then slice it into portions. Store it in the fridge in an air-tight container, or wrapped in clingfilm, for up to 3 days.

Freeze - The frittata slices can be frozen for up to 3 months. Wrap each slice individually in clingfilm, then a layer of foil, before placing them in your freezer. Allow the frittata slices to defrost in the fridge before eating or reheating.

    ❓ FAQS

Mine is in the fryer right now, but I just wanted to add a word of caution. My springform pan looked totally fine and I made doubly sure that it was snug and tight because this is a runny mix, but the moment the egg mixture went in it just leaked allllll over. I was able to dump and scrape it into a cake tin, so fingers crossed it survives. I was in such a hurry that I didn't think to grease the emergency pan beforehand. I don't have much hope for it now haha. I guess I'll stick to making cheesecakes with this pan. No fault of the recipe obviously!
