Top Tips
- Let your batter rest for a few minutes before cooking. This allows the baking powder to activate and create a light and fluffy pancake.
- Be careful not to overmix your batter. Overmixing can cause the gluten in the flour to develop, resulting in tough, dense pancakes.
- Like with many recipes, preheating your air fryer can help cook the pancakes evenly.
- Line the baking tin with parchment paper to prevent the pancakes from sticking.
- Pancakes are ready when they are golden brown and cooked through. You can check by inserting a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, they’re done.
- If the pancakes are browning too quickly but aren’t cooked through, lower the temperature slightly and cook for a longer time.
- Air fryer pancakes are best enjoyed fresh and hot.
🍴 Serving suggestions
One of the most classic toppings for pancakes is maple syrup. The sweet, sticky syrup pairs perfectly with the fluffy texture of air fryer pancakes.
However, don't be afraid to get creative with your toppings. Some of our favourite toppings include whipped cream, fresh fruit, sliced banana, chocolate chips, and icing sugar.
📖 Variations
- Stir in a handful of chocolate chips into the batter for a sweet, melty surprise.
- Mash a ripe banana and mix it into the batter. This adds a natural sweetness and a moist texture to the pancakes.
- Add lemon zest and a sprinkle of poppy seeds to your batter for a citrusy, slightly crunchy twist.
- Add finely chopped or grated apple and a dash of cinnamon to your batter for a sweet treat.

🥡 Storage
Air fryer pancakes are best eaten hot and fresh from the air fryer!
Store - Before storing, let the pancakes cool completely. Place the cooled pancakes in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheat - To reheat, place the pancakes back in the air fryer for a few minutes. Set the temperature to about 160°C (320°F).
Freeze - For longer storage, freezing is a great option.
