✔️ Why you'll love this recipe!
- This is a no bake recipe and can be made in just a few simple steps, making it a great option for those who want a quick and easy treat.
- It makes a large batch (16 pieces), so it's perfect for sharing with friends and family at parties or gatherings.
- Everyone loves the hazelnut white chocolate spread that fills Kinder Bueno bars! It's deliciously rich and indulgent.
- You can add other ingredients to the recipe to make it your own, such as chopped nuts or dried fruit, to give it a unique flavour and texture.
- If you have leftover biscuits that are starting to go stale, this recipe is a great way to use them up and prevent food waste.
🛒 Ingredient notes
Digestive Biscuits - crushed with a rolling pin. You could also use Rich Tea biscuits, Graham Crackers, or shortbread.
Butter - unsalted is best.
Golden Syrup - for that unique sweet taste and chewy texture. Swap for clear runny honey if you can't get hold of Golden Syrup.
Chocolate - a combination of dark and milk chocolate gives the best rich chocolaty taste.
Kinder Beuno Bars - I used a mix of milk chocolate and white Kinder Bueno.
Kinder Bars - chopped, you could also use supermarket own brand 'Kinder' Bars.
Chocolate Topping - you'll need white chocolate, milk chocolate, a drop of vegetable oil to prevent the top from cracking, Kinder Bueno bars, and Kinder bars (I told you it was indulgent).
🔪 Instructions
The recipe card with ingredient quantities and detailed instructions can be found at the bottom of the post
One: Line a 20x20cm baking tin with clingfilm or baking paper, making sure it overhangs the sides.
Two: Place the butter, golden syrup, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate into a large bowl. Microwave in 30-40 second bursts, stirring in between, until melted. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
Three: Stir in the crushed digestive biscuits, chopped Kinder Bueno bars, and chopped Kinder bars.
Four: Pour the tiffin into the baking tin and level with a spatula. Place in the fridge while you make the topping.
Five: Put the milk chocolate and white chocolate in separate bowls. Add a few drops of vegetable oil to each bowl and then microwave in 30-second bursts (stirring in between) until melted.
Six: Place spoonfuls of the melted milk chocolate and white chocolate onto the top of the tiffin base and drag a toothpick or skewer through the melted chocolate to create a marbled pattern.
Seven: Top with the chopped Kinder Bueno bars and chopped Kinder bars and place in the fridge to set for at least 2 hours.
Eight: Remove from the fridge 10 minutes before cutting into bars.
Top Tips
- When melting the chocolate, it's important to do it slowly and gently to avoid burning it. Stir it regularly to prevent it from overheating.
- Adding a few drops of vegetable oil to the milk chocolate and white chocolate topping helps to prevent the top from cracking when cut. Coconut oil can also be used.
- One way to prevent any cracks is to let the tiffin rest outside the fridge for about 10 - 15 minutes before slicing it into bars. This allows it to slightly soften.
- For neatly cut bars, use a long sharp knife for cutting, and wipe it clean with a paper towel between each cut.
🍴 Serving suggestions
The tiffin is best served chilled, so be sure to keep it in the fridge until you're ready to serve.
Cut the tiffin into small squares or bite-sized pieces for easy serving and sharing.
Serve the tiffin alongside a scoop of vanilla or hazelnut ice cream for a delicious dessert.
