✔️ Why should you try it?
- The recipe can be prepared in no time, making it perfect for busy weeknights or when you need a meal on the table fast.
- Ideal for vegetarians and anyone looking to reduce their meat consumption, this dish offers a delicious alternative to traditional meat-based chilli.
- Make a big batch and freeze portions for later, ensuring you have a tasty, homemade meal ready whenever you need it.
🥘 Ingredients
Quorn Mince - you'll need 500g of frozen quorn mince.
Olive Oil - for frying.
Onion - 1 onion finely chopped (or use a red onion instead).
Garlic - 2 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped.
Red Pepper - deseeded and sliced into strips.
Spices - chilli powder, smoked paprika, cumin, ground coriander, and oregano.
Tin of Tomato Soup - gives the chilli a slight sweetness which my kids like. You can use a tin of chopped tomatoes or passata instead.

Worcestershire Sauce (or vegetarian alternative) - adds a delicious savoury flavour to the dish.
Salt, Pepper, Sriracha Sauce and Coriander to serve
🔪 How to make Quorn chilli
The recipe card with ingredient quantities and detailed instructions can be found at the bottom of the post
One: Heat the oil in a frying pan and cook the onion, garlic and red pepper strips for 4-5 minutes.
Two: Add the frozen Quorn mince and continue to cook for a further 5 minutes until defrosted, stirring often to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
Three: Stir in the spices.
Four: Add the tomato soup (or chopped tomatoes / passata) and kidney beans in chilli sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
Five: Serve with rice, grated cheese, sriracha chilli sauce (for those who like it hot), and chopped coriander.
Top Tips
- Always keep a packet of frozen Quorn mince in the freezer so you're never too far away from delicious meals like this.
- There is no need to defrost the Quorn mince beforehand. Use it straight from the freezer.
- Chilli often tastes better the next day. Make it ahead of time and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight to allow the flavours to fully develop.
🍴 Serving suggestions
Serve the Quorn chilli con carne with rice, tortilla chips, grated cheese, sour cream, salsa and chopped coriander.
Leftovers can be stirred through cheesy pasta and then baked in the oven for a Quorn chilli pasta bake.
📖 Variations
- Like things spicy? Use double the amount of chilli powder.
- Add another tin of kidney beans for extra protein (or chickpeas).
- Add more vegetables such as sliced mushrooms, an extra pepper, or baby spinach.
- Make it in the slow cooker. Just put all of the ingredients in your slow cooker basin, mix, and cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6.
🥡 Storage
The Quorn chilli can be kept in the fridge for up to 5 days. Reheat in the microwave until piping hot.
It can also be frozen for up to 3 months, so why not make a double batch and freeze half for another day?

I LOOOVE This dish! I've made a big batch of it twice now. I made 13 portions last night. I used half beef mince, half Quorn mince. Topped off with lots of fresh coriander and grated gruyère.i also pop a couple of cubes of dark chocolate in at the end-i read it works in chilli. & a splash of soy. It's so flavorful & easy 🙂
