Preheat the oven to 180 °C (160 °C fan/ Gas 4) and line 2 large baking trays with baking paper.
In a large mixing bowl cream together the butter and sugar with a wooden spoon until light and fluffy.
200 g Butter, 100 g Caster Sugar
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
1 Egg, 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Fold in the flour.
250 g Self Raising Flour
Roll walnut size pieces of biscuit dough into round balls then roll them in the oats.
50 g Oats
Place the biscuits on a lined baking tray and top each one with a halved glace cherry. Bake in the oven for 12 minutes until golden brown.
