Equipment

  • Kitchen Scales
  • Measuring Jug
  • Saucepan
  • Wooden Spoon

Ingredients

  • 70 g Rolled Oats NOT instant or jumbo oats
  • 350 ml Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Nutella or other brand of chocolate hazelnut spread

For the topping

  • 50 ml Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Nutella
  • 25 g Hazelnuts toasted and chopped

Instructions

  • Place the oats and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then turn down the heat and cook for 3-4 minutes until cooked and creamy.
  • Take the pan off the heat and stir through the Nutella.
  • Serve in bowls with the extra milk (if required), chopped hazelnuts, and a dollop of smooth Nutella.

Notes

Top Tips:
  • A great time-saving tip is to weigh the oats and measure the milk into a jug the night before. Store the milk in the fridge obviously!
  • Buy ready toasted and chopped hazelnuts, or toast them the night before, so you're all ready to go in the morning.
  • Feel free to add more milk to make the porridge the consistency you prefer. I prefer thick and creamy!

Variations:
  • Top the Nutella porridge with fresh fruit such as sliced banana, blueberries, or raspberries.
  • Stir in a spoonful of chia seeds for extra goodness.
  • Use plant-based milk (almond works well) instead of cow's milk, if you prefer.
