Baked Carrot Fries

These healthy baked carrot fries, or carrot chips as they are more commonly known in the UK, are a delicious side dish, but could also be served as a tasty and nutritious after school snack for kids, with dips like hummus or homemade ketchup!

Ingredients

  • 500 g Carrots peeled and cut into batons
  • 1 tablespoon Cornflour
  • 2 tablespoon Rapeseed oil or use olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200°c (180 fan/ 400F/ Gas 6)). Peel and cut your carrots into batons and place in a bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the cornflour, oil and seasonings, then pour over the carrots. Use a spoon to make sure all the carrots are coated.
  • Spread onto a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 35 minutes. Give them a shake half way through cooking to ensure all sides of the carrot are cooked and crispy.
