Equipment

  • Chopping Board
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 3 Green Apples
  • 2 tablespoon Biscoff Spread
  • 12 Pumpkin Seeds
  • 3 Strawberries sliced
  • 24 Edible Candy Eyes

Instructions

  • Wash and dry the apples. Then, use a sharp knife to quarter the green apples and slice off the core and seeds from each quarter.
    3 Green Apples
  • Cut a v-shape into the centre of each apple quarter to create the monster's mouth. Repeat this process for all three apples.
  • Spread a layer of Biscoff spread into the mouths.
    2 tablespoon Biscoff Spread
  • Press 4 pumpkin seeds into the top of the mouth to form the monsters teeth.
    12 Pumpkin Seeds
  • Place a triangular piece of sliced strawberry into each mouth to form the tongue.
    3 Strawberries
  • Secure the edible eyes (or raisins) with a little Biscoff spread.
    24 Edible Candy Eyes
  • Serve immediately or cover and chill in the fridge.

Notes

Variations:
  • Instead of using sliced strawberries for the tongue, try using sliced cheese. Cheddar cheese works well and add a savoury twist to the recipe.
  • If you can't find edible candy eyes, you can use chocolate chips instead. Simply press two chocolate chips into the Biscoff spread to create the eyes.
  • For a fun and crunchy twist, press small broken bits of pretzels into the top of the apples to create monster "hair". This adds a salty crunch to the recipe.

Storage:
Store - Cover the green apple monsters with cling film or store them in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Keep in mind that the apples may start to brown slightly over time, but they will still be safe to eat.
Freezer - These green apple monsters are not suitable for freezing, as the texture of the apples will become mushy and unappetising when thawed.
