  • ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400F).
  • Place the peeled and quartered parsnips in a bowl and stir in the olive oil, maple syrup, sea salt and black pepper.
400 g Parsnips, 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup, 1 tablespoon Olive Oil, ½ teaspoon Sea Salt, ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper

Notes

Expert Tips:
    • Cut the parsnips into even sizes. This ensures that they cook evenly and are all done at the same time.
    • Just like with an oven, it's essential to preheat the air fryer to get the best results.
    • Make sure to leave enough space between the parsnips in the air fryer basket to allow for even cooking.
    • During the cooking process, shake the basket once or twice to ensure that the parsnips cook evenly on all sides.
    • A light coating of oil helps prevent the parsnips from sticking to the basket and promotes even browning.
    • Don't forget to season the parsnips with sea salt and pepper to enhance their natural flavours.

Variations:
  • Sprinkle grated Parmesan over the parsnips before air frying for a delicious cheesy twist.
  • Swap the maple syrup for honey for a different taste.
  • Add some carrots to the mix for air fryer carrots and parsnips. They go well together and add a pop of colour to your dish.
  • Season with herbs such as thyme, oregano, or rosemary, or use herb blends such as Italian seasoning for an aromatic and flavourful dish.
  • Add some cayenne pepper or chili flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Add some garlic powder for a delicious garlic flavour.

Storage:
For the best taste and texture, it's recommended to enjoy the parsnips fresh, straight out of the air fryer.
Store - If you have any leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
Reheat - To reheat, you can use the air fryer at 180C for 3 minutes, oven, or microwave.
Freeze - Please note that these parsnips are not suitable for home freezing.
