Notes
Expert Tips:
Whip the cream to soft peaks in a mixer with a balloon whisk attachment, handheld electric whisk, or by hand. If you accidentally overwhip your cream, add a tablespoon more of double cream and use a handheld whisk to whisk it into the mixture and rescue it!
Variations:
Make Cadbury Creme Egg meringues and top the whipped cream with halved creme eggs.
Fill the nests with chocolate buttercream instead of whipped cream.
Make them for Mother's Day and top the whipped cream with lemon curd, fresh fruit, and blueberry compote, instead of chocolate eggs.
Use different types of sweets and candy such as jelly beans and smarties.
Top the Easter meringue nests with meringue cookies!
Make one large Easter meringue instead of 8 individual ones.
